New Delhi: An angry mob clashed with the police in Kolkata's Park Circus area on Saturday morning, reportedly over the death of a 30-year-old Muslim man.
The police had to lathicharge and fire several rounds of tear gas shells to bring the mob under control.
A policeman and several others have been injured. A few vehicles were also torched.
Locals say the body of Rizanul Rehman was found in Park circus on Friday night under suspicious circumstances.
Rizanul had married a Marwari girl on August 18, disregarding opposition from the girl's family. People are now demanding police action.
