Kolkata: SFI activist dies in police crackdown on protest

Kolkata: In a shocking instance of police brutality, a student activist belonging to the SFI lost his life after being beaten up by policemen during its crackdown on a protest. Sudipto Gupta, a student of MA at Rabindra Bharati University was admitted to hospital with severe internal hemorrhage and later succumbed to his injuries.

According to sources, the activist was beaten up while he was being taken to the Presidency jail.

He was a part of a protest organised by the SFI against the postponement of college elections.
