Kolkata: While cricketer turned commentator Sourav Ganguly is watching the India vs England test match, back in Kolkata, his restaurant in the posh Park Street has shut down. Kolkata being the food paradise, the Prince of Kolkata too wanted to be a Maharaja of its gourmet world.

So Sourav's, a four storied multicuisine restaurant, came up in the heart of Park Street seven years ago. But just as Ganguly stumbled through the pitches, Sourav's too couldn't tickle Kolkata's taste buds and was run out by fresh entrants. On its last day Kolkata bid it farewell.

However, Sourav cannot be blamed for picking the wrong menu. Sachin Tendulkar and Virender Sehwag's luck too ran out when it came to their food business and they have also shut their restaurants.

But Ganguly has a way to pick up the pieces. He might not be Maharaja of taste buds, but he is soon turning out to be the Maharaja of small screen.
