KRCL: Rail services resume

KARWAR: Konkan Railway Corporation Limited (KRCL), resumed all train services on Konkan Railway Track except that of Kankanadi Junction- Chatrapati Shivaji Terminus Mumbai superfast express on Saturday, sources in KRCL said. The cancelled train service would resume on Monday.

It may be noted that services on Konkan Railway Track was affected following the collapse of a protective wall at Pomandi near Ratnagiri in Maharashtra on Thursday evening. While Mangala Express, Rajdhani Express and Ernakulam- Pune Express were diverted via Kalyan and Pune, Kochuv e l i - M a n g a l o r e Express and Garib Rath Express were diverted via Madgaon- Londa-Miraj. On Friday, the Matsyagandha Express, Mangalore-Mumbai Express and Diva Express were cancelled.

The track is being cleared.

The KRCL has introduced transshipment facility at its own cost under which Mumbai- bound passengers were taken in a bus from Nisar to Ratnagiri station and then shifted to different trains.
