New Delhi: Former Karnataka chief minister and Janata Dal (Secular) leader H D Kumaraswamy fuelled speculation when he met Congress President Sonia Gandhi at her residence on Tuesday evening.
Kumaraswamy was caught on camera covering his face as his car passed through the gate of 10 Janpath. There are reports of a tacit understanding between the JD(S) and the Congress in Karnataka.
In an exclusive interview with CNN-IBN's Chief Political Correspondent Pallavi Ghosh, Kumaraswamy said his party will continue to fight the Congress.
"I wasn't hiding my face. That is how I sit in the car," said Kumaraswamy when asked about covering his face.
CNN-IBN: Why did you meet Sonia now?
H D Kumaraswamy: If I had met her before the election it would have given lot of room for speculation.
CNN-IBN: You did not field candidates for five seats against the Congress. Any plans to team up?
H D Kumaraswamy: No question. We will fight the Congress in the future.
