Pratapgarh: The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) team on Saturday recovered the slain DSP Zia-ul-Haq's service revolver and its bullets, which were used in the murders of the Kunda gram pradhan. The DSP was killed in clashes that followed after the murders of gram pradhan Nanhe Yadav and his brother.
The revolver was allegedly found in Ballipur village of Kunda. Sources said it was found hidden in the bushes. The CBI team has recovered 10 bullets and empty shells as well.
Earlier in the day, the key accused in the murder of Nanhe Yadav, Kamta Pal, had surrendered before the CBI. The murders are being investigated by the Central Unit of the CBI from New Delhi.
The CBI has been reconstructing the crime scene and will examine some high-profile names in the case in next two to three days including former minister Raja Bhaiya. The CBI is hoping to get more leads in DSP's killing from Kamta Pal.
