KOCHI: The Kerala High Court on Friday sought the opinion of the Commanding Officer, Southern Air command, and the Centre on a petition filed against an Air Force personnel who allegedly took favours from a young women by promising to marry her.
The court passed the order while considering a petition filed by a 28-year-old ayurveda doctor based in Thrissur.
The petitioner alleged tht the Palakkad-based IAF officer who is currently posted in Ananthapur, Kashmir, sexually abused her and later withdrew his promise of marrying her.
The petitioner alleged that the officer is planning on marrying another girl.
She had earlier filed a complaint before the commanding officer of the Southern Air Command against the officer.
However, no steps were taken by the authorities, she pointed out.
“I got acquainted with him in 2009.
He promised that he would marry me.
Unfortunately he backed out and said that he will only marry a girl whom his parents choose for him,” she said, demanding a court intervention in the matter.
