Lahore: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Imran Khan suffered a severe head injury after falling off a lift that was taking him up to a 14-feet high stage at an election rally in Lahore on Tuesday evening.

Two of Imran's supporters were also injured in the fall.

Imran Khan was immediately rushed to a hospital and his close aides said he had regained consciousness and would require a few stitches. Pakistan state television said he was out of danger.

However, the extent of injuries could not be independently confirmed.

Former PM Nawaz Sharif wished him a quick recovery.

A few days back, he had also fainted while addressing a rally in Punjab and doctors had advised him rest as he was suffering from exhaustion and stress.

Imran's PTI has emerged as a strong party in the coming elections offering strong competition to the PML-N and PPP.
