If you thought Indian fashion weeks were predominantly for women, what would you say to a day devoted entirely to menswear? Yes, Day 3 of the Lakme Fashion Week in Mumbai saw designers present collections exclusively for men.
Wearing suits, sherwanis and shorts, male models took to the ramp sporting accessories like sleek carryalls, satchels and scarfs,
We bring you some of the hottest ensembles from the collections of designers Dev R Nil, Zubair Kirmani, Lecoanet Hemant, Raghavendra Rathore, Narendra Kumar and Troy Costa.
Designer: Dev R Nil
Collection: The Jigsaw

The designers used chikan kari to create subtle textures along with batik printing to achieve jigsaw patterns. They used silk Lurex, satin, linen/viscose blends, stretch cotton and jacquards. The cube print appeared through out the collection in different colour tones or as cutwork along with the grid batik design.
Colours: Black and white with grey, as well as sap green, pink, blue and mauve.
Hot picks: Jackets, pleated trousers, slim pants, shorts, shirts and tees

Designer: Zubair Kirmani
Collection: Crisp cotton, lots of textured fabrics and a subtle muted colour card, designed for the 'glocal' male (global yet local).
Colours: The palest of grey, white, black, beige, cobalt blue and bright red
Hot picks: Sporty jackets with banded waist and multiple pockets, basic shirts, cotton sherwanis, jackets with narrow lapels or band collars, skinny pants, kurtas and tees.

Collection: "Are you high?", inspired by the twilight zone and other extra-terrestrial themes.
A quirky dog motif that appeared on jackets and trousers in black or gold added an element of fun to the collection. The designer-duo used fabrics like linen, jersey, grosgrain, cotton, herringbone, twill, and poplin.

Colours: Khaki, grey, white, brown, beige and clay were the basis on which pink, blue, red and coral added a note of innovation to the spectrum.

Hot picks: Trousers, which were wide on the hips and then tapering down, canvas buffoon shorts, dissected shirts, decollage jackets with drawstrings or slightly gathered at the hemline, suits with two-button closures, narrow lapels and single vents, slim pants, body-hugging T-shirts with broken necklines

Designer: Raghavendra Rathore
Collection: The Rathore Nikon Style Sutra inspired by the adventurous male who longs for the great outdoors from dawn to dusk. The designer used linen, cotton, satin cotton and silk blends. Interesting detailing: multiple pockets -- at times nearly a dozen on each garment in different sizes and flaps – geometric, square or round for patched and bellow versions of the pockets.
Colours: Black, white, sand, beige, coffee brown and grey

The collection: The Rise of Fascism
The designer used comfortable fabrics like cotton and silk with light mesh lining, along with poplin, jersey and textured silks. Metallic buttons, zippers, epaulets and flapped patched pockets made for interesting detailing.

Colours: Black, grey, maroon, rust and white giving way to a few bright hues like green and saffron inspired by the national flag
Hot picks: Short bombers, blousons, jackets with a marked military touch, skinny pants and denims both embellished very discreetly, long parkas and trench coats with drawstrings at the waist

Collection: Sports Couture
The designer used fabrics like jersey, silk denim and gabardine, satin cotton, poplin, jersey and silk rayon. Detailing was achieved with zips, studs and buckles for a line that was very structured and body-hugging.

Colours: Shades of grey, white and black
Hot picks: Jackets with one-button, single vent (and an occasional double vent) narrow lapel silhouettes, lapel-less jackets, Jodhpuri coats, sweaters, party shirts, a solitary waistcoat and skinny pants

Designer: Arjun Khanna
Collection: Ice Cream
Arjun constructed his trousers by cutting and patching them in nine part patterns and gave the sleeve cuffs shapes like ice-cream ripples. He used minute detailing with velvet over locking, epaulets, zardosi patches, chevrons and texturing with swirls, appliqués and scallops.

Colours: The main colour was vanilla around which the designer wove in hints of mint, strawberry mocha, blueberry, lemon, butterscotch and sorbet
