New Delhi: Railway Minister Lalu Prasad on Wednesday claimed that former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee had made a statement that Bihar's roads would be made like Hema Malini's cheeks.

"I have often been lampooned by the media for making foolish statements. I was attributed a statement that Bihar's roads would be made like the cheeks of Hema Malini. However, this statement was originally made by Atal Bihari Vajpayee, and he played the mischief and somehow attributed the statement to me," Lalu Prasad said at a function organised by the Institute of Company Secretaries of India at FICCI.

He alleged that the BJP was a leaderless party. Referring to Hema, Prasad said he was deeply impressed by her acting and recently saw her in the role of Draupadi in a play.
