For a CNN IBN exclusive, Congress leader and Tourism minister Ambika Soni has spoken out on Lalu Yadav's decision to break with the Congress in Bihar. Speaking to Karan Thapar on Devil’s advocate, Soni claimed that Lalu Yadav is underestimating the intelligence of Sonia Gandhi, and that the Congress is right in its decision to fight alone in Bihar.
Karan Thapar: If what you are doing is in the best interest of the UPA, then how do you account for the fact that Lalu Yadav - in public and repeatedly has said that Sonia is making a serious and terrible mistake and she is going to regret that - how do u account for that?
Ambika Soni: I read his statement last night, and he said this is nothing to do with Sonia Gandhi, maybe her people have not given her the right inputs.
Karan Thapar: Alright, that's an explanation.
Ambika Soni: He is underestimating the intelligence and political savvy of Sonia Gandhi.
Karan Thapar: Are your seriously telling me that you are going to win even 50 per cent of the 37 seats that you are contesting in Bihar?
Ambika Soni: We are going to win may more than what we won last time. Many many more.
