Lalu ups anti-Raj stir, says MPs will quit

New Delhi: Politics intensified on the Maharashtrian versus outsider issue on Sunday with RJD chief and Railway Minister Lalu Prasad saying that all his MPs and MLAs will resign.

The Minister also asked other Bihar parties to snap ties with Shiv Sena and the .

At a press conference in Patna on Sunday, Lalu indicated that he is willing to quit along with his party's MPs and MLAs to protest against MNS chief Raj Thackarey's stand.

“We will show what Bihar is about. We will show our solidarity because we are ready to face anything. We have also spoken to Nitish Kumar, Paswan ji and their MLAs,” Lalu said.

The Railway Minister also dared Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar to resign.

Meanwhile, Lalu also demanded an inquiry by a sitting judge into the shooting of Bihar boy Rahul Raj who was gunned down by the Mumbai Police in a city bus.

According to reports, Congress ministers like HR Bhardwaj, Kapil Sibal and Jaipal Reddy, too, joined in the attack on Maharashtra Chief Minister Vilasrao Deshmukh, expressing dissatisfaction over the probe ordered into the Rahul Raj killing. Many have also demanded a judicial probe.

As General Elections draw closer, Bihar politicians are worried that the fire unleashed by the MNS could engulf them.

So, JDU president Sharad Yadav has threatened to resign if strong action is not taken against Raj Thackeray.

Both Lalu and Paswan have made it clear to Congress chief Sonia Gandhi and Prime Minister Manmohan Singh that it would be difficult for them to continue if they did not get tough on Raj Thackeray.
