Surat: Another whistleblower was targeted for exposing a land grabbing case on Sunday. The Surat police found an RTI activist Santosh Makrande Tiwari badly injured and abandoned on the national highway.
Tiwari, 42, claims he was kidnapped by the land grabbers he sought information on.
"Vijay and Dilawar are land grabbers and are known to be close to former Chief Minister Ashok Chavan. The people who kidnapped me had phoned Vijay and Dilawar," said Tiwari.
Recounting the incident, Tiwari said that his attackers locked him up in a container.
"They hit me on the head and covered my face with a pillow cover. After two hours I was locked in a container. On the first day I was beaten up by goons," he said.
"Someone by the name of Ashid Langra from Dubai called and gave orders for my murder," he added.
Tiwari was kidnapped a couple of days ago from Mumbai.
