Chennai: DMK chief M Karunanidhi on Thursday expressed concern over reports about Sri Lanka's attitude towards India and demanded that New Delhi give greater attention to Sri Lankan Tamils issue.
He cited reports that said the Island nation's relations with China was growing, while it didn't keep India informed about implementing the recommendations of the Lessons Learnt and Reconciliation Commission (LLRC), as it did to the United States.
"As I bring this to the Centre's notice,I also insist that the Centre should not remain ignorant and show more concern towards the Sri Lankan Tamils issue," he said.

Karunanidhi expressed concern over reports about Lanka\'s attitude towards India and demanded that New Delhi give greater attention to Lankan Tamils issue.
Alleging Colombo was "deliberately negligent" over its agreement to reduce military presence in prominent Tamil areas in the north of the Island, the reports said India need not remain "silent" as the military increasingly took over land and houses of Tamils, he said.
To a query on shifting Salem Railway Zone to Kerala, he said "some in Kerala are trying form a new Railway Division with Thiruvananthapuram as the head and they are trying to take Salem Railway Zone into it, as it takes at least three Railway Zones to form a new Railway Division."
He said the Centre should not bow down to Kerala's pressure and demanded basic amenities for Salem Railway Zone.
