Mumbai: Even at 77 the eternal nightingale Lata Mangeshkar continues to charm her fans. Now she is all set with her new album—Sumiran.

Legendary singer Lata Mangeshkar's latest album is all in Sanskrit. Though her last album in Sanskrit was released nearly 40-years ago, she says she's still comfortable with the language.

“I don’t think Sanskrit is difficult. I have read Sanskrit. Its like any other language—Tamil, Telugu, Urdu or Bengali,” said the veteran singer.

Composed by her brother Hridaynath Mangeshkar, this album has 23 popular Sanksrit sholkas (hymns). Sumiran was recorded and kept in the cans for some 15 years until Sa Re Ga Ma decided to dig it out and release it. But the singer is happy for more than one reason.

“The best thing about this album is that it can’t be remixed,” said Lata Mangeshkar.

So, if you are in search of some spirituality and old world charm, do check out Sumiran It’s priced at Rs 225.
