Mumbai: Maharashtra Navnirman Sena chief Raj Thackeray on Friday addressed a press conference in Mumbai and said that he doesn't want to make any kind of statement that would lead to violence.
He, however, did not tone down his rhetoric against people from others states coming to Maharashtra.
"We are still against migrants entering the city. Those who don't embrace the language, we will not tolerate them," he said.
"I won't talk about Chhath Puja. The main question I am being asked is about Chhath Puja. I have no opposition to anyone's religious beliefs. That's what I have said till now," Raj Thackeray said.
"There are elements who are trying to use Chhath Puja to spark some kind of divide in the society. Over the last few days across media an impression has been created that violence will be there in Mumbai. There is no question of politicisation of Chhath Puja. There is no question of taking law into hand," The MNS leader

"A festival should be celebrated as a festival only, without politics involved," he said.

He also called for unity among Maharashtra politicians the way it is now seen among Bihar political leaders.
Claiming that anti-social are trying to exploit the situation, Raj said, "In several parts of Mumbai slums are coming up which unauthorised and are being used by anti-social elements'. We will oppose any such attempts by anti-social elements to use such illegal and unauthorised slums."
He refused to comment on the cases against him in courts saying he won't comment on matters which are sub-judice.
