When Aishwarya, Abhishek and Amitabh Bachchan came together at a recent event in Mumbai last week, and even left in the same car—with Aishwarya in the back seat giggling and pointing towards her watch to the lensmen—rumour mill buzzed once again.
To know the truth from the horse’s mouth, we asked Abhishek, what’s cooking, but the near-speech reply from his mouth sounded like he has just had a ‘verbal diarrhea’ attack.
Rajeev Masand: Is there any truth to the marriage rumours that we have been hearing on and off now? Is there any date that has been fixed for the marriage?
Abhishek Bachchan: Well, its not about truth or denial. We live our lives on a public platform and its okay for the media and the society to scrutinize our lives publicly. If I am a public figure I have to deal with all this. But in the middle of all this, I have never liked to speak about my personal life because that is all that I have got of my own.
Rajeev Masand: So you won't lead your life differently in order to hide it from the world. Is there something that you would not like to share with people at this point of time?
Abhishek Bachchan: I don’t believe in hiding anything and my life is an open book. As and when there is something to talk about I will talk about it. Generally I like to keep my personal life private. I would appreciate if people could understand that. The day I do get married, I will tell everyone. I am not doing anything illegal anyways.
