New Delhi: The Rajdhani Express crisis ended on Wednesday after the train reached the Capital in the evening. However, this has given way to a new rivalry between Communist Party of India - Marxist (CPI-M) and Railway Minister Mamata Banerjee.

CPI-M’s senior leader Sitaram Yechury on Wednesday accused Mamata of plotting the hijack of the Rajdhani Express.

“How can a Rajdhani, which runs at a speed of at least 120 km per hour, stopped on the track? Normally a train is stopped when there is some kind of obstruction or an accident on the track but here all of a sudden the train stops. Maoists have left graffiti on the train asking for the release of Chhattradhar Mahato, who as everyone knows has been a Trinamool leader earlier,” says Yechury.

The CPI-M also claims that as the Trinamool Congress desperately wants to win the 2011 Assembly elections, Mamata is heavily banking on the Maoists.

“Mamata’s complicity with the disruptive forces is very clear so her words have no credibility,” says CPI-M leader Prakash Karat.

However, Congress has come to the rescue of the Trinamool Congress as its largest alliance partners promise to deliver good results in 2011 state Assembly elections.

“I can only humbly request that although there is democracy and each person has the freedom of speech it is important, especially when you represent political parties, to exercise a sense of responsibility,” says Congress leader Abhishek Manu Singhvi hinting that Left’s claims are preposterous.

During the General Elections 2009, Nandigram and Singur were the main issues which were raised by the political parties. If the situation remains the same in West Bengal, in 2011 Assembly elections Lalgarh will probably the hot issued taken up during campaigns.
