New Delhi: The government might have been able to abate the foreign direct investment (FDI) storm, but Parliament could now be rocked on another issue on the 11th day of the Winter Session on Thursday.
The issue of price rise is slated to be discussed in the Lok Sabha on Thursday. CPI leader Gurudas Dasgupta is expected to initiate the discussion.
Speaker Meira Kumar had admitted a Left-backed adjournment motion on price rise under rule 193 that doesn't entail voting on the third day of the Winter Session.
However, protests by opposition MPs forced repeated adjournments.
Inflation rate has been around 9 per cent for the past few months.
Finance Minister Pranab Mukherjee has said that food inflation has come down from 22 per cent in February 2010 to 8 per cent in November 2011.
