New Delhi: A day after the trust vote, the UNPA and Left leaders met at the residence of BSP supremo Mayawati.

Senior Left leaders Prakash Karat, D Raja, A B Bardhan and Abani Roy, JD(S) leaders H D Deve Gowda and his son H D Kumaraswamy, TDP's Chandrababu Naidu, Rashtriya Lok Dal chief Ajit Singh and Babulal Marandi of the Jharkhand Vikas Morcha were among those present at that meeting.

Kumaraswamy openly declared that Mayawati would lead the Third Front in the next elections. Offering Mayawati his support, Kumaraswamy said that he is confident she will lead the Third Front in the days ahead.

"In future politics, our party will stand by madam, and strenghten the Third Front. I have full confidence that madam Maywati will lead the country and also the Third Front," he said.

Meanwhile, CPI-M General Secretary, Prakash Karat clarified that no front has been constituted so far and that UNPA, BSP, JD (S), TDP, RLD and Left parties have come together only for a national campaign against the UPA.

He said the UPA victory was engineered and that they were the real alternative to the UPA and the NDA.

TDP leader, Chandrababu Naidu said, "UPA has won the trust vote through horsetrading and blackmailing. A national campaign against them will be launched soon."

Mayawati added, "Democracy is the biggest loser after the UPA victory."
