Mumbai: From ad jingles to pop music to remix, Leslie Lewis has done it all. But he is most popular as the other half of pop duo Colonial Cousins with Hariharan.
And now for the first time, he's out with his musical score for a full-length feature film – Apna Asman.
“Kaushik Roy and Umang, who are both behind the movie, are people I have worked a lot in advertising. I have done a lot of their work earlier. They had this plan that they wanted to do a movie. Umang said the day this movie happens, Leslie will have to do it,” says Leslie.
Apna Aasman features top-line singers like Chitra, Shreya Ghoshal, Sunidhi Chauhan and Shaan. This time Leslie, however, chose to stick to the composer’s chair.
With the fourth album of Colonial Cousins on the anvil, Leslie has also managed to rope in his partner in rhyme to start composing for Bollywood.
“Bollywood has opened itself to all kinds of music. This is a great change that I can see,” says Leslie.
Apart from composing music, Leslie has also started an academy for budding rockstars. So, if you're a singer waiting to be discovered, Leslie is the man to meet.
