Sopore: Lashkar-e-Toiba terrorists shot dead two sisters after dragging them out of their house in Sopore in north Kashmir on Tuesday.
Seventeen-year-old Arifa and 20-year-old Akhtar were gunned down by three terrorists. The terrorists allegedly barged into the house and forcibly dragged the girls, aged between sixteen to eighteen years, outside their house.
Police sources say it could be a case of the girls being targeted on suspicion of being police informants. The police said that local terrorists involved in the killing have been identified.
Reacting to the gruesome killing incident, Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah said, "Full details about the Sopore incident has yet not come but its quite sad that no condemnation of this killing by militants is coming out. If there was any whiff or suggestion that security forces had killed civilians then the entire valley would have been up in flames."
