LeT plans to bomb vital projects in AP

Hyderabad: The Lashkar-e-Toiba (LeT) is planning to attack several vital projects, including the Nagarjuna Sagar, railway stations and airports in Andhra Pradesh, according to intelligence reports.

According to sources, the intelligence department had information that the LeT was planning to trigger blast at Nagarjuna Sagar and Tungabhadra dams, Vijayawada thermal power station, buildings of Multi National IT organisations and RSS offices in the state.

Following the report, top brass of the police department issued a 12-point circular to the district Police Superintendents to tackle the problem, sources added.

Consequently, police have stepped up security at all-important places, including airports, railway stations, reservoirs and places of worship.

Meanwhile, the city police is reported to have arrested a suspected terrorist, who was assigned the task of killing state BJP President N Indrasena Reddy.
