5-day long LFW ends in Mumbai on a high note

Mumbai: The grand finale of the five-day Lakme Fashion Week in Mumbai was low on Bollywood glam but high on fashion. Designers Anamika Khanna and Narendra Kumar belted out stunning creations that hogged spotlight.

Amibika teamed up long skirts with belts and short embroidered jackets with zips, which gave outfits a sporty feel. Masakalli babe Sonam Kapoor was spotted at the event. The actor had come to cheer for her favourite designer.

“I love Ambika’s clothes and she makes the most beautiful clothes,” says Sonam.

The reclusive Oscar winning sound recordist, Resool Pookutty also turned up at the venue for Arjun and Rahul Mishra’s fashion show.

“I have come particularly to watch Rahul’s show. I like his work and we both are designers. He designs apparels and I design sound,” says Pookutty.

Narendra Kumar's collection also managed to steal the spotlight. His line was dominated by short dresses, inspired by the shapes of the 80's.

His showstopper Mugdha Gosdse sashayed down the runway flaunting a colourful dress with long trail that she couldn't keep a track of and the models behind her kept tripping over it.

“When you become famous people love to bitch about you and the other models are just jealous of us. So they want to stamp on the dress,” says model actor Mugdha.
