Lt governor Iqbal Singh and Chief Minister N Rangasamy greeted Muslims on the occasion of Ramzan, to be celebrated on Monday.
“Ramzan, celebrated after the holy month of Ramadan, is a unique festival for expression of universal brotherhood and friendship,” said Singh. “It is a festival that also teaches self-restraint as well as compassion.”
Rangasamy extended his hearty greetings to the people of UT and wished that the festival continue to strengthen the goodwill and brotherhood among all people.
Speaker V Sabapathy, opposition leader, V Vaithilingam, welfare minister, P Rajavelu, AIADMK leader, Anbazhagan and leaders of various political parties, K Lakshminarayanan of Congress, the PCC chief A V Subramanian, RKR Anantharaman of PMK and MLA Namassivayam also greeted the people.
