Liberhan slams media over report leak

New Delhi: Justice Manmohan Singh Liberhan has lashed out at the media and the Opposition parties over the alleged leak of his report into the December 6, 1992, demolition of Babri Masjid.
Justice Liberhan claimed that he was not the one who leaked the report.
"Go and ask the media where did they get the report from. Go and ask them. What do you mean by this, you are challenging my character? Get Lost. I am not that characterless that I will leak the report before it is tabled in Parliament. Go and ask Opposition what they are saying. Go and ask media. Go and do what you want to," replied an angry Liberhan when he was asked who leaked the report.
The Liberhan Commission report on the Babri Masjid demolition case has reportedly indicted former prime minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee and Leader of Opposition LK Advani in the case.
The Commission has also indicted Vinay Katiyar, Uma Bharti, Murli Manohar Joshi along with Vishwa Hindu Parishad leaders Ashok Singhal and Giriraj Kishore.
CNN-IBN had first reported how the Commission's report put the responsibility for the demolition on the BJP top brass.
The report incidentally has virtually scrapped the BJP's claim that the Babri Masjid demolition was a spontaneous outburst.
The Commission says the demolition was meticulously planned.
The Commission had also given a clean chit to the PB Narasimha Rao government and blamed the then Uttar Pradesh government led by Kalyan Singh for not seeking Central intervention.
The one-man Commission was set up 10 days after the demolition as communal riots rocked several parts of the country. After 17 years and 48 extensions, it submitted its report on June 30 this year.
Union Home Minister P Chidambaram told the Lok Sabha that he intends to table the Action Taken Report on the Commissions findings in the Winter Session of Parliament.
