Chennai: Actor Irrfan had a personal reason behind doing Ang Lee's upcoming English adventure drama 'Life of Pi'. He says he acted in the film for his children.
"Throughout my career, I've been part of films with adult themes or subjects. I couldn't make my children watch these films as I felt it would not be appropriate for them. But this will be first time I can make my kids watch my film ('Life of Pi') as many times as possible. I would want them to treasure it as a souvenir," Irrfan told reporters at a promotional event of the film here Wednesday.
In the movie, Irrfan plays the adult version of the movie's protagonist, Pi aka Piscine Molitor Patel.
The film, being released on November 23, is based on the novel of the same name by Canadian writer Yann Martel. Delhi-based Indian boy Suraj Sharma plays young Pi in it. The movie also features Tabu.
