Beijing: Lithuania and Croatia remained undefeated in the Olympic men's basketball tournament with impressive triumphs Tuesday to share the lead atop Group A in the preliminary round.
Marko Popovich scored 22 points and Zoran Planinic added 20 as Croatia beat reigning European champion Russia 85-78 while Sarunas Jasikevicius scored 20 points and Rimantas Kaukenas added 14 to lead Lithuania past Iran 99-67.
In later games, the US team face Angola, with reigning world champion Spain set to meet China and defending Olympic champions Argentina, trying to bounce back from a loss, up against Australia.
