Preview: Sri Lanka and South Africa clash in a five-match ODI series, but both teams are missing key personnel. The hosts will be led by Dinesh Chandimal as regular skipper Angelo Matthews serves a two-match ban for slow over-rate.

As it happened: Sri Lanka vs South Africa, 1st ODI

After Kumar Sangakkara scored a career best 169 to help the hosts post 320, the bowlers lead by Rangana Herath (3/25) inflicted a massive 180 runs defeat on South Africa in the first ODI at Colombo.

South Africa, on the other hand, will be taking the field without injured Hashim Amla, Dale Steyn, Lonwabo Tsotsobe and Graeme Smith. Fit-again Morne Morkel is in the playing XI.
