Mumbai: Actors Abhishek Bachchan and Aishwarya Rai are out of the public glare for the moment as model Elizabeth Hurley and her business tycoon husband Arun Nayar stepped into Mumbai ahead of their royal Indian wedding later this week.
The couple secretly got married at a civil ceremony at a 15th century castle in Gloucestershire, England on March 2, followed by a lavish party the next day which was attended by the likes of singer Elton John and actor Hugh Grant.
Now Liz and Arun are gearing for the Indian leg of their transcontinental wedding.
“Well, there is just some guests going out sailing in the evening,” industrialist Gautam Singhania said.
Though, friends kept mum about the big plans here's what the itinerary holds for the couple.
The couple and the guests are likely to reach Jodhpur on March 7 and are to marry the same night in the lawns of Umaid Bhavan Palace.
While 347 rooms and suites of Umaid Bhavan have been booked for family and friends, the newly-weds would be guests of the royal family in their private quarters.
The next afternoon features parties at nearby forts and a final bash in Mehrangarh Fort on March 9 in Jodhpur will wrap up the wedding spread.
Close friends Elton John, Hugh Grant, David and Victoria Beckham are expected in Jodhpur for the big day.
So, while designer Tarun Tahiliani is reported to have designed a wedding gown for the bride, Rohit Bal is looking into the bridegroom's wardrobe for D-day.
But will this big fat celebrity Indian wedding be the wedding of the year? Watch this space for more.
