Hathais are pretty much like theme-based virtual chat rooms except that they're real. They are meant for witty, intelligent discussions on just about anything under the sun.
With the celeb wedding happening in Jodhpur its hardly surprising that all the Hathais are abuzz with discussions on it. And no matter how well guarded the event everyone at the Hathais seems to know all about it.
Over rounds of tea, the traditional chat posts of Jodhpur are outdoing each other in bashing the wedding.
From the model's dressing style, to the couple's short-lived past relationships, old timers are sketching their own stories on the wedding and why the couple chose Jodhpur for it.
Says a member Nauchowkion ki Hathai, Govind Kalla, "Jodhpur has zero divorce rate. There is a saying here that women frequently tell their husbands that I came to your house standing, but I'll go lying down only when I'm dead, so I think these people are here to marry the Indian way looking for longevity of the relationship."
But it's at the Comrades ki Hathai, known for its young people with left leanings that the big fat wedding is being ripped apart most - mostly for the mega bucks going into it.
Says Comrades ki Hathai member, Sanjay Bohra, member, "I can't figure out what really is this. Is this a marriage? No. It's an ugly way to show off. They have sold the media rights to some magazine and they are just marketing a product."
The wedding party will end in a couple of days, but the discussions will echo in the hathais for a long time to come.
