New Delhi: The Lok Sabha on Monday passed the Medical Council Amendment Bill despite key UPA constituent Trinamool Congress opposed the same.
With the passage of the bill, the Medical Council of India (MCI) will come under a proposed National Commission of Human Resources for Health.
Health Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad confirmed that the Medical Council Amendment Bill was on Monday passed in the Lok Sabha.
The proposed body will also oversee the Dental Council and the Nursing Council.
