New Delhi: Hurriyat calls for strike in J&K, BMW hit-and-run case to be heard and TADA court to award sentence on Monday.
J&K General Strike
The All Parties Hurriyat Conference has called for a general strike in Jammu and Kashmir on Monday to observe the death anniversaries of its assassinated leaders Mirwaiz Moulvi Farooq and Abdul Ghani Lone.
Hurriyat chairman Mirwaiz Umar Farooq will be adressing a massive rally in Srinagar where he is expected to announce the dates of the Hurriyat-Centre talks.
BMW Case
The BMW hit and run case will be heard in Delhi High Court on Monday. The court will decide whether main witness - Sunil Kulkarni's - testimony should be taken into consideration or not, since it was first rejected by the prosecution earlier.
Last week Kulkarni had said that he saw main accused Sanjeev Nanda emerge from a car which mowed down five people in Delhi in 1999.
TADA Judgement expected
The TADA court in Mumbai is expected to award sentences to four constables convicted in the 1993 Mumbai bomb blast case. The constables have been booked for allowing the passage of RDX and arms used in the blasts.
Mohanty Rape Case
The Supreme Court's deadline for Orissa DGP B B Mohanty to surrender before a Jaipur court ends on Monday. Top Jaipur police sources say if Mohanty fails to surrender the police will begin proceedings to arrest him.
B B Mohanty, the father of rape convict Bitti Mohanty is accused of helping his son jump parole from Jaipur Central Jail.
