New Delhi: Shyam Saran is in Australia to talk about India's N-aspirations, Lakme India Fashion week begins on Tuesday as does the first ever SAARC car rally. Here is a look at what's likely to be in the news on Tuesday.
India's N-aspirations
Special envoy on the nuclear issue, Shyam Saran, will be in Australia on Tuesday to explain in detail, India's aspirations for civil nuclear energy.
Saran will meet ministers and officials from Australia and New Zealand to try to persuade the countries to support its stand in the Nuclear Supplier Group session in South Africa next month.
The Group needs to change its guidelines if India is to have nuclear co-operation with other countries.
Another week of fashion
The Lakme India Fashion week will begin on Tuesday at the National Centre for Performing Arts in Mumbai.
Lakme has announced Narendra Kumar as the Lakme Grand Finale designer for Summer 2007. The event comes right on the heels of the Wills India Fashion Week, which ended in New Delhi last week.
SAARC car rally
Thirty vehicles with about a 100 participants forming the first ever SAARC car rally will arrive in Chandigarh on Tuesday en route to Pakistan.
The rally is a run-up to the next SAARC summit which will be held in New Delhi in April next year. The rally has participants from all the SAARC countries travelling across Bangladesh, India, Bhutan, Nepal, Pakistan, Sri Lanka and the Maldives.
