New Delhi: External Affairs Minister Pranab Mukherjee likely to be discharged from hospital, sealing issue will come up for hearing in SC and cross examination of Rekha Mahajan in Pramod Mahajan death case. Here is a look at what else is likely to make news through the day today.

Pranab to be discharged

External Affairs Minister Pranab Mukherjee, who had been hospitalised following a car accident in West Bengal on Saturday, is likely to be discharged from the Army Research and Referral Hospital today. His condition was reviewed by a team of specialists on Monday and his health has improved.

Sealing issue

The sealing issue will come up for hearing once again before the Supreme Court today. The court is to review the new master plan for Delhi. The Delhi Pradesh Citizen's Council had challenged the Master Plan, calling it unconstitutional.

Mahajan trial

Cross examination of Rekha Mahajan, prime witness in the murder trial of her late husband Pramod Mahajan, will continue today. She has come in for some sharp questioning by the defence team during the cross examination, which began last week. The BJP leader was shot at his house on April 22, 2006. He died in hospital a few days later.

Mohanty case hearing

The Orissa High Court will take up a petition by senior state IPS officer B B Mohanty seeking quashing of charges against him in the Biti Mohanty case. Mohanty is accused of helping his son Bitti Mohanty jump parole from jail in Rajasthan. Biti was convicted of raping a German tourist and has been absconding for the last five months after jumping parole.
