Supreme Court to hear the issue of 27 per cent OBC reservation in educational institutions, a Patiala court will begin framing charges against pop singer Daler Mehndi in a human trafficking case and Tamil Nadu Assembly will discuss the Cauvery issue on Wednesday.
Hearing on OBC reservation
The issue of 27 per cent OBC reservation in educational institutions comes up for hearing in the Supreme Court on Wednesday.
The court is expected to decide on whether to transfer the case to a five-judge constitutional bench.
On Tuesday the Centre had made a fresh plea seeking the transfer to a Constitutional Bench.
Human trafficking charges against Daler Mehndi
A trial court in Patiala will begin framing charges against pop singer Daler Mehndi in a human trafficking case on Wednesday.
Daler and his brother are accused of taking money from 25 people with a promise of transporting them abroad illegally.
Daler allegedly promised to take them abroad disguised as his troupe members, but later went back on the deal.
Tamil Nadu to discuss Cauvery issue
The Cauvery issue comes up for discussion in the Tamil Nadu Assembly on Wednesday.
This comes after the Supreme Court issued a notice to the state seeking its response on various objections raised against the Cauvery Water Disputes Tribunal's final award.
Several petitioners have moved court claiming the Tribunal's award is arbitrary and discriminatory.
