Indo-Pak Home Secretary-level talks to begin:
The Indo-Pak Home Secretary-level talks will start in New Delhi on Tuesday. In this meeting, India will convey its strong concerns to Pakistan on stepped up cross border terrorism.
Assurances by Pakistan of not allowing its soil to be used by terror groups are viewed skeptically by the Indian government and seek action from Pakistan terror infrastructure including training camps and communication networks.
JDS-BJP Government’s Coordination Committee Meet:
The Coordination Committee of the Janata Dal Secular and the BJP coalition government in Karnataka will meet in Bangalore on Tuesday.
The meeting assumes significance in the wake of differences over certain governance issues.
The meeting also is important since as per the power sharing agreement, Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy is to handover charge to his Deputy B S Yediyurappa of the BJP on 3rd October later this year.
CID to file report on fake encounter case in SC:
The Gujarat CID will submit a report on the Sohrabuddin Sheikh fake encounter case in the Supreme Courton Tuesday.
The CID has so far arrested nine policemen of the state Anti-Terrorist Squad and Rajasthan's Special Task Force.
These include senior IPS officer D G Vanzara who headed the operation and is the main accused in the case. He is also being accussed of killing Sohrabuddin's wife Kausar Bi.
Sohrabuddin was reportedly killed in a fake encounter on November 26, 2005 after being branded a Lashkar-e-Toiba militant by the Gujarat Police.
