Courts in West Bengal will protest today on CPI-M's 'recapture' of Nandigram. The Bar Council of West Bengal has called for cease work today. The council would also organise a national level seminar at City Civil Court building on November 23 on issues like freedom of citizens rights and role of the civil society.
RS Privilege Committee meet
The Rajya Sabha Privilege Committee will meet today to annouce its decision over Indian Ambassador Ronen Sen's "headless chickens" comment. Sen though has apologized in the house and said that the comments were directed at the media and not the MP's.
Lalu Rabri disproportionate case
The Patna High court will resume hearing on the Lalu Rabri disproportionate assests case. The court will hear the state government's appeal challenging the acquittal of Lalu Yadav and his wife Rabri Devi in the case. A special CBI court had acquitted the minister & his wife in 2006. The case involves their assets worth Rs 46 lakh which was amassed during Lalu's tenure as chief minister between 1990 and 1997.
