Tamil civilians cross over with SL army help

As the exodus of thousands of civilians continues in Sri Lanka's north, a massive rehabilitation drive is on in the government controlled areas.

Over 80,000 civillians have been rescued from the areas held by LTTE rebels in the last two days.

Almost 18,000 people have been rescued in overnight rescue bids.

LTTE rebel leader Prabhakaran was suspected to be hiding among the civilians along the eight km coastal strip.
