Mumbai: Apple has launched its thinnest and lightest notebook till date, the Macbook Air — a laptop so thin, it could hide behind your index finger.

With 76 inches being its thickest and 0.16 inches its thinnest sides, the laptop is deceptively minimalistic in design.

It comes with a full size keyboard, a 13.3 inch screen and a large multi-touch track pad that sets it apart from other laptops.

Even though the Macbook Air has no CD or DVD drive, one can access the CD drive of another computer using its wireless connection capability.

"Apple has not compromised on anything, while shaving off the size and weight," Marketing Manager Apple Inc Angeline Tan says.

Its innards are sturdy with a 1.6GHz Intel core duo processor, 2 GB RAM and an 80 GB hard drive. But as always the catch is the price. It comes with a heavy price tag of Rs 96,000.

Now that ought to slim down one's pockets.
