New York: The Madame Tussauds Wax Museum unveiled its new Bollywood exhibition in New York city on Thursday, featuring a wax figure of Bollywood film legend Amitabh Bachchan.
The wax likeness shows Bachchan dressed in a traditional Sherwani suit, and is the first installment of the museum's new Bollywood display.
One of India's most renowned and beloved celebrities, Amitabh Bachchan has starred in more than 150 films.
"He has been in over 150 different films, he is an Indian actor and certainly an icon. He's also held a Parliament position in the Indian Parliament," said Madame Tussauds marketing director, Rosemary Del Prado.
The Big B, who is currently in China, was unable to attend the launch, which featured a performance by Indian dance troupe, Bollywood Axion.
The Madame Tussauds exhibition, once complete, will feature a replica of the Taj Mahal and other prominent Indian actors, designed to re-create the experience of being on a Bollywood film set.
