Mumbai: Filmmaker Madhur Bhandarkar ‘s filmi peek into the world of fashion, Fashion will be released this Diwali.

The movie is reportedly an emotional journey of a small town girl who lands in Mumbai aspiring to be a supermodel and gets caught in the big bad world of glamour, catwalk and designer wear.

Bhandarkar's earlier films like Chandini Bar, Page3 and Corporate gave filmgoers a look at the underbelly of dance bars, life in high society and the corporate world.

When CNN-IBN asked people connected to the fashion industry about their hopes from the movie, they said that they are curious to watch it and are sure that it will turn out to be a good movie.

“You know people usually think that fashion is all glamorous and its all about celebrities and parties and everything. But if Madhur can show the real side of fashion then which is a lot of hard work lot of politics and if it comes in real self, then it will be a great movie,” says designer Rocky S.

“One thing I would really want to see is really the hard work that goes behind creating clothes, making stuff and competing and coming out on top. It's a lot of work involved in the whole thing and it is tough for the designers and not as easy as the people see. What I don't really want to see is too much of the hectic partying life that is portrayed in the fashion world. Because it is not just about the hectic partying, in the fashion industry,” says another designer Narendra Kumar.

“I think it's a great concept for a film. It is great to see a film on fashion which is going to be pretty interesting,” says designer Neeta Lulla.

However Madhur Bhandarkar had a different story to tell.

“Because its Madhurs film then people try to anticipate that he's going to make a statement on the fashion industry. I'm not trying to say that fashion is about technicality of fashion world. I'm not talking about the world of fashion, their politics in the fashion world, where should the fashion shows be held or what happens- the problem between two companies. But, there are elements – how a designer is stressed out, how a designer faces problems, how a designer has is answerable to sponsors. So a lot of things are there which will definitely be part of the film,” says the director of the movie.

But some believe that the movie will unduly sensationalise the fashion industry.

“By the end of the day it is for the public to understand that a movie is not depicting real lives. It is meant to be entertainment and it is meant to be sensentionalising these things, that is the purpose of the movie,” says Abhishek Gupta.

So, the public can only wait till October 29 to get the real story.
