Bhopal: Activist Medha Patkar was released on bail from Madhya Pradesh's Chhindwara Jail, along with 19 others on Wednesday. The activists had been arrested on Sunday night while attempting to join farmers protesting the diversion of water from Pench river for the Adani power project.
They claim the project will affect 300 families in 35 villages. Medha has accused the police of manhandling her during her arrest, but has vowed to fight on.
"The arrest has been illegal and I condemn the action. The government is against the poor farmers. I will investigate every aspect of this project," the activist said.
