Madhya Pradesh: SP calls for unity of non-BJP, non-Congress parties ahead of 2013 Assembly elections

Bhopal: Ahead of the next year's Assembly elections in Madhya Pradesh, six political parties led by the Samajwadi Party are in talks to form a Third Front kind of an alternative to the ruling BJP and main Opposition the Congress. A meeting to this effect was held in Bhopal on Friday at the behest of the SP.

The CPI(M), CPI, Rashtriya Samanta Dal, Bharatiya Gondwana Party and Janata Dal(S) were represented at the meeting. State Samajwadi Party unit president Gauri Yadav said that all the parties at the meeting decided to expose the

shortcomings of the BJP government in Madhya Pradesh. He said the state government was following anti-farmers' policies, the roads were in a bad shape and the law and order situation was going from bad to worse.

State Samajwadi Party unit said that all the parties at the meeting decided to expose the shortcomings of the BJP in Madhya Pradesh.

The people of the state are fed up with both the Congress and the BJP and hence attempts must be made to former a Third Front government, Yadav said.
