Click to play videoNew Delhi: In what can be called a fresh twist in the Pramod Mahajan case, a self proclaimed software expert, P Harikrishma, on Friday successfully demonstrated in court how an SMS could be tampered with. A defence had brought in Harikrishna to demonstrate that SMS can be fabricated.
Harikrishna successfully demonstrated that an SMS in mobile phone memory could be tampered with after failing in the first attempt.
On Friday morning, in the first attempt, Harikrishna failed to alter an SMS stored in a Motorola handset exactly similar to the one possessed by Pramod .
However, Additional Sessions Judge S P Davare allowed him to have another go, and this time he succeeded in altering an SMS, stored in phone's memory with the help of a laptop.
Prosecution will cross-examine Harikrishna on November 19.
A threatening SMS allegedly sent by accused Pravin Mahajan to his elder brother and late BJP leader Pramod Mahajan is part of the evidence in the trial.
Pravin allegedly shot Pramod last April, and the SMS had been sent prior to the incident. Mahajan succumbed to the bullet injuries after twelve days in hospital.
