New Delhi: There have been new developments in the Pramod Mahajan murder investigation.
Mahesh Wankhede, a man who worked as a domestic help in Pramod Mahajan’s house has identified Pramod’s brother Pravin as the man who shot him.
Wankhede told a local court on Friday that he heard three noises that sounded like gunfire on the night of the murder.
He then saw Pravin standing near Pramod's body, holding a gun in his hand. Wankhede said that Pravin was a regular visitor to the house. He also identified the empty bullet shells used in the shooting.
Pramod was shot on April 22 last year, and died 13 days later. The next hearing of the case will be on May 22.
Public prosecutor Ujjwal Nikam spoke about the significance of Wankhede's statement in court on Friday.
"Mahesh Wankhede's statement is very crucial because he has substantially corroborated Rekha Mahajan's deposition in the court of law,” Nikam said.
