Bhandara: Just a week after the horrific rape and murder of three minor girls in Bhandara, another girl has been raped in the same district. This time a 13-year-old was allegedly raped by her 46-year-old teacher. The accused has been nabbed by police but is there no stopping this shame?

The incident happened on the morning of February 20, when the teacher offered to drop the girl to her school, but instead took her to an isolated location and raped her. "The girl was at a bus stop when the teacher offered to drop her," police said.

Though the accused has been nabbed, it reflects poorly on the local police who have failed to make any headway in the earlier case. Police have fanned out teams to Rajasthan and Gujarat but a breakthrough still eludes them.

Additional DG, Maharashtra Ahmed Javed said, "We are looking into all aspects and possibilities and are working on some leads."

With these two shocking cases coming to light in the last one week alone, it seems the lessons from the Delhi gangrape case, which shook the nation, have not been learnt.
