New Delhi: The Maharashtra Assembly was on Monday adjourned twice over the controversy surrounding the new Maharashtra Sadan, currently under construction in the national capital.
CNN-IBN had reported last week how sub-contracts were awarded to the relatives of Public Works Department (PWD) Minister Chaggan Bhujbal in return for the contract to build the Sadan that was awarded to M/S KS Chamankar.
As the Opposition alleged kickbacks in the awarding of contracts, the CM refused to give the go ahead for the inauguration of the building.
Outgoing President Pratibha Patil too played it safe and declined to inaugurate the Sadan.
