New Delhi: There is trouble brewing in Maharashtra for Chief Minister Vilasrao Deshmukh. There is news of a revolt in the Maharashtra Congress against the Chief MInister.
A group of Maharashtra Pradesh Congress Committee (MPCC) office bearers, including MPCC President Prabha Rau, have had a series of meetings in Delhi with Congress President Sonia Gandhi to press for Deshmukh's removal.
Sources say All India Congress Committee General Secretary, Margaret Alva supports the demand.
Maharashtra Revenue Minister, Narayan Rane has also been camping in Delhi for the last few days and Congress sources say Union Power minister Shushilkumar Sinde is being considered for the post.
Vilasrao Deshmukh is in Latur and while speaking to CNN-IBN he said he has not got any such indications from the Congress high command.
Deshmukh said he will hold the position till Congress president Sonia Gandhi wants him too.
