New Delhi: One couple and seven wedding ceremonies—that was the theme of a Maharashtrian couple's wedding who said “I do” in different ceremonies from around the globe. The bride Sayali Bhat and the groom Amar Drawid wanted to make their special day a 'global event'. And so they decided to get married in seven different ways.

"I have a lot of foreigner friends who suggested me that I must pay respect to all the religions while I marry. I travel across the world and to represent these countries I decided to perform marriage with respect to their cultures," said Amar.

Even the wedding cards were printed in 25 languages, ranging from the obscure Egyptian Hieroglyphics invite to the somewhat outdated Indo-European. Costume ideas came from the guests.

"Amar's friend who is a Chinese brought his wife's wedding gown and Amar bought a white frock for German and christens wedding," said Sayali the bride.

The grand ceremony started off in traditional Maharashtrian style, followed by a Muslim nikah. The couple said they were too thrilled to say kubool hai, kubool hai.

And interestingly there was no official cleric for the ceremonies. Amar and Sayali only got a little help from their friends. Some of them did not mind even pulling off the bed-sheets for some authenticity. So here's wishing Amar and Sayali a happy married life.
